This is THE simplest flower I know how to make. But it can be a star or a flower. Easy to make tons, easy to pick down and return to. You need to know: 1) Slip knot to start. 2) Chain stitch. 3) Slip stitch. 4) Single crochet stitch. See the Flowers #1 video for more info how to learn these stitches. In this video, I crochet 2 of the 5 petals. I make a mistake and fix it (it’s easy!). Then I sew it up and “finish” the star. These would look really cute on a baby scrapbook page or a card. Or use as a flower layer, attached together by brad.
A year ago I got “the bug” to learn how to make crochet flowers. I really wanted to use them on my paper crafting projects! Looking back over my 1st year now I’m doing an introduction video for paper crafters who want to make crochet flowers just for paper crafts. And don’t already know how to crochet! lol My suggestions: Youtube – Theresa (Art of Crochet) and Mikeysmail – he just put up a brand new line of beginner videos! Library – children’s section, search for crochet. Easy projects, lots of pictures! lol Next trip to Wal Mart buy: Size C (or D) Crochet hook – .30 Size 3 white crochet thread (not embroidery!) – Needle point needles – .50 Use a bag you own to be your “embroidery” bag. The library also has flower crochet books – get on the waiting list! lol In the adult section.

Not only do you get tonnes of flowers, butterflies, dragon flies, leaves and pebbles, but you now also get some amazingly modern papers, boxes, tags, banners and even tea bags thrown in for good measure. On top of this, we have greatly improved the LBT embellishment engine to allow for even better and faster features! So all the colour changing and size tools are better than ever before, and now you can easily mirror and outline too. Finally, we’ve built it all from scratch so that you can add single items to your page, and it will auto arrange them for you to reduce paper wastage.
