My Mini Album Swap for Expo
I made this mini album out of recycled Capri Sun boxes and paper from my scrap paper bin. I will be swapping out this mini at Expo on Saturday (Aug.8,2009) with either Bona or Marie. Enjoy! … “mini album” “paper craft” scrapbooking

Beautiful album! Very inspirational! Thanks so much…again!
Just beautiful. You guys must have lots of fun with you swaps, and challenges. Have a great time at the Expo.
Seriously, where do you have time to come up with these beautiful albums so fast!!!!! I love it!!
Love the album!!
I have a question….Did you use the whole carton for this project,,,and what were the measurements?
Thank so much
For my huge rings I use shower rings that come in many colors but I just get the silver ones and then use my alcohol inks to change the color.
I also just buy the big 100 box of the smaller ones from Office Depot and then color them as well. Makes them that much more personal to the colors.
fab album i enjoy your work lovely
beauty, as usual, Arlene. I’ve tried your embossing on acetate tech but cannot master it yet. Can you show or tell how you adhered the jean button? thanks!
roxy
You can use your alcohol inks to color your rings.
beautiful album!
Hi Michelle! I ended up using most of the front and back pieces of the Capri Sun box. The measurements are 5×5.
Thanks for the tip! I have most of the alcohol inks including the black, but the rings never really get that “black.” I probably need to do more coats maybe? I don’t use the alcohol ink applicator when altering metal. I typically submerse the object in a little container in the alcohol ink. If you have any tips on how to color them, that would be awesome. Thank you!
Hey Roxy!
I punched a hole using my Crop-a-dile (large setting) then squeezed the denim button base through. The jean button comes with a snap for the back that I attached to the head of the button using a craft hammer & craft mat. Worked out pretty good!
Thanks for your comments as always, you are such a sweetheart!
cute,cute,cute
thanks, Arlene! Any tips or tricks for embossing acetate?
Morning Roxy! I have a vid out on distressing on acetate. My suggestion is if you are looking for just the embossed look (and don’t want the worn, warped affect like on my acetate lollipop flowers), use a quick back and forth movement of the heat gun when heat setting and only use enough heat to “melt” the embossing powder. When applying the VersaMark, it can also help to use a make-up sponge on the edges. Versamark is super sticky. I try to use stamps with thin lines to avoid “running” too.
Arlene, it is really hard to find big rings {2″+} in any color other than silver. I normally just color my big rings with alcohol inks, but I’m not usually trying for such a deep stauration like you mentioned. Have you thought about trying spray paint, though? Krylon has a “Brushed Metallic” line out right now that had several of the colors you mentioned. I haven’t tried it myself, but it is rated for metal, per their website.
G’DAY Arlene,
What an stunning album, it’s soooooooooo beautiful and I just love everything about it, love the papers and the colours are so yummy lol!
Have a great time at the Expo, sounds fun!
Have a great weekend,
Take Care,
Kylie
This is absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to see the tutorial on the tag. Thank you for sharing!!
great video
This is one of my fave mini albums that you have created. I really like the papers that you used, it looks really put together and coordinated. i love it. I also like that you didn’t go crazy embelishing (even though you included embelly’s for them to do it) because It wasn’t so much to take in, so I think that’s why it is my favorite. Great techniques. Looking forward to the tag tutorial
Hey Kathryn! Thanks for the lead. I’ll check out those spray paints!
Thanks Kylie!!! Oh, we had such an awesome time at Expo… maybe a little too awesome (the shopping was intense! lol!) Check out my latest vids for some of the great deals and products I picked up!

I don’t have a tutorial for that, but check out my friend’s channel – alohanmabuhay – Marie has a vid showing how to recycle the capri sun boxes.
