Lots of Lovely Layers
Layers are important to art-journaling, so here is my way to do it pretty easily. I worked on canvas board, but you can apply the same techniques in your journal. Check out my other videos!!! visit my blog at: scrapperclaire.blogspot.com

lovely layers indeed
this was very helpful!
That was awesome! Thanks.
Great music
Who is that french singer? I LOVE her voice and would love to buy the CD.
I also really look forward to your videos.
Keep em coming.
Can you tell me the artist that’s singing that french song? I’d love to buy the CD.
Also, love your video’s – keep em coming.
Serge Gainsbourg & Francoise Hardy – Comment te dire adieu
I believe that is all correct.
Why do you have to do so many layers. IS it just to add interest?
I truly believe in layering. There’s just no shortcut to get that great visual effect! I think it’s also a lesson in patience, in that it takes many steps to properly layer, there is no “instant gratification”, but the end result is gorgeous and worth every step !!! Great video!
i never thought of the buttons. or the book paper!
thank you so much. i also love that you were like “whatever” with you way you pronounce gesso. i have a problem with that too! lol.
*subscribes* thanks!
hey thanks for the subscription!
I just think layering is fun. It gives it a unique look that I don’t think is achieved through just a little paint or one layer of stuff.
personal preference. I do pages with tons of layers, or just paint, paper and words.
Cool video! Sorry about your jeans! I do that all the time. When I’m thinking ahead, I use new, white T-shirts to paint in and keep one in my lap for wiping off brushes, my hands…whatever.
After a while, both shirts are ready to wear in the outside world, though ready-or-not I often wear them.
awesome vid!!! I love how you make everything blend in perfectly. Sorry about your pants ^^ I once got indian ink on my new watch (thankfully it was black too) ^^ What song was that playing?
Can you tell me what you used to “glue” down the book paper you started with? Gesso or regular glue? BTW, I absolutely love your choice of music. Very classy! Love that French.
honestly I can’t remember…but i’m gonna say a glue stick because that’s what I use most often.
OK, thanks!
Hey, I see you have a Cricut. do you use it in journaling?
I would love to say that I do use it in journaling, but it seems that when i start journaling, i forget about all my scrapbookinb “toys.” I’ve had it for quite a while, but am just now playing with a whole lot. but i am definitely going to be using it in a video sometime soon.
Nice video. I really loved the luscious layers of lavendar! Really pretty. I also had to laugh at your “gesso” joke. It’s amazing how many people pronounce it wrong! LOL I too, have heard several say “guess-so” when it’s “jess-so”. I “guess-so” we shouldn’t be laughin’ tho! LOL Anyway, I really liked the vid and I too am sorry about your pants! I have started wearing this cool artsy apron when I have painting to do, cuz something like that usually happens to me too! Keep on creatin!
i don;t recall the name of the song, but Jane Birkin is the singer… u’re gonna love her!!!
she rocks!!!
I really like the book page idea, it’s really cool. And I like the way you incorporated the wash over the top
ur so un profetional! ur using a Glue stick, that little kid paint u get at the craft store and Wore NEW JEANS! srry but rlly? NEW JEANS! lol
@Graciebellrocks What’s your deal? I appreciate the fact that this user took the time to upload. I see you have nothing on your channel, so I’d appreciate if you kept the negative comments to yourself. Sheesh. Go read a book or something.
I love your finished background! I am always too timid to do more than a couple layers….I need to get over that whole fear of “ruining” something I’ve created. Hopefully I can one day get to that stage! Haha.
Also, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for putting yourself out there and posting these and other vids. Beginners like me sure appreciate all the inspiration we can get! (and I very rarely look at what jeans the poster’s wearing….pfft).
@Graciebellrocks I think that she’s making an art journal to have fun, not to be professional. Have you ever tried using glue sticks and “little kid” paint in your art journal? I personally think they are the best. Thanks for the video owlsandelephants, your art journal is awesome!
